Tour Description
PATH OF THE GODS
Discover the most evocative trail above the stunning coastline of Amalfi through wild and lush vegetation into which cultivation (vineyard, terraced olives, citrus and lemon groves) are admirably integrated.
The Amalfi coast is not only scenery characterized by the mighty cliff that drops into the sea or vertiginous slopes, but there are places where nature is still uncontaminated where local people have been able to organize and set up their lives in the most unreachable spots of the coast since the middle ages.
It doesn’t matter how old you are, if you are in good and healthy shape do it, as it stands to be an unforgettable walk through the ancient wildlife and rural civilization of Amalfi.
The day will start with our licensed tour driver who will greet you at your chosen departing point. Then he will drive you across the milky mountains to reach the trailhead of the footpath.
You will start from Bomerano, one of the highest villages of the coastline, where you will follow all the 5 miles of trial till the little village of Nocelle, located up above the community of Positano (approx.. 3.5 hours hike.).
The directions are very well signed step by step. We prefer and suggest to start east to west because tends to be slightly more downhill then walking the other direction. At the end of the trail, again you will find your driver who will lead you in a local trattoria of the area where you will be able to enjoy the flavors of the coastline at your ease. A mix of organic vegetables, home made gnocchis, fusillis and raviolis cooked as per mama style and seasonal fruit all this accompanied by local wines and stunning views on the bay of Positano, overlooking the island of Capri from the distance. Then if schedule time allows us, we will drive down town to Positano to stroll along the alleys of this vertical and picturesque tiny village. After all that, drive back to your destination along the coastal road
There is an option, which involves being accompanied; it is possible to organize the hike with an expert local guide who will walk with you along the full length of the path.
Due the weather conditions in the winter (rain, ice, frost), the tour is available from April to early November
Suggested dress code: wearing good hiking or sneakers. Bring plenty of water and sunscreen.
